Vicious Cycle
In the aftermath of my small Florida town being rocked by the murder of little nine year old Jessica Marie Lunsford not ten miles from my house. Jessica was kidnapped from her bedroom in the night, sexually assaulted, then had her short life taken from her by a piece of garbage named John Couey, who admitted to the abduction and murder. Couey is a previously convicted sex offender who should not have been on the streets in the first place. My heart and deepest sympathies go out to Mark Lunsford and family.
This brings me to reaffirm my opinion that there is no rehabilitation of sex offenders. If someone is cold enough to bring physical harm to another person, especially a child it is something deep rooted in their twisted psyche that cannot be removed. Unfortunately our court system is constantly releasing these predators back into society.
At the risk of sounding barbaric, we could save alot of tax money by turning these dirt bags back over to the families of their victims. For instance in the case of John Couey, I think he should be sentenced to, oh say thirty minutes with Mark Lunsford (victim's father).
A few years back I watched an HBO documentory about the family who fought the court system in the state of Texas for the right to view the execution of the man who murdered two of their children during a robbery. The documentory chronicled their challenge and eventual win. They were filmed as they were walking up to the death house to view the lethal injection of the man who murdered their children. As they were walking in, a crowd of useless Birkenstock wearing tree huggers was screaming at them they were murders. Hmmmm... I've always been highly outspoken against violence upon women, but there was one hippie looking girl in that crowd with a megaphone who appeared to be the ring leader. I really wanted see her dumb ass get knocked in the dirt one good time.
How about Sondra London the woman who fell in love with Danny Rolling the serial killer who stalked, and murdered students at the University of Florida campus. This crazy woman wanted to marry this bucket of swill while he was on death row. She even has a website where people could purchase his freakishly demented artwork and books online and fought to get him off death row. The conversations between the two must been fun to listen to, "Oh baby if I ever get out of here, the things I'm gonna do to you." WTF is wrong with people? Killer Groupies, wow sounds like a good plan...pffft!
Anyway, this has turned more into a rant. My point of view is that the justice system is hindered greatly by extreme liberals and bone heads who scream against capitol punishment. Bottom line, most states, as a matter of fact I think every state that still has the death penalty uses lethal injection thus making it comparable to euthanizing a sick animal. So for those with reservations towards the death penatly for murders and sexual predators, think of it like this, we are putting a sick animal to sleep.
By the way, just FYI before any bleeding hearts want to throw mud at me. I'm one of the good guys. I've been a Law Enforcement/Correctional Officer for the past twelve years. I've looked at both sides of the fence. Victim's rights...stop and think about that before you start hugging trees :)
